Tripura's Chess Star Arshia secures Silver at Western Asian Blitz Championship in Sri Lanka

The young chess sensation from Tripura, Arshia Das has once again proven her mettle by clinching the silver medal at the Western Asian Blitz Chess Championship held in Sri Lanka. Arshia, an eighth-grade student at Holy Cross School, showcased her exceptional skills by scoring 7 points in the nine-round competition, earning her a silver medal.

Her achievement in Sri Lanka adds to her growing list of accolades. Prior to this, Arshia secured fourth place in the Rapid Chess event, demonstrating her versatility and consistent performance in various formats of the game. Her previous accomplishments include winning a bronze medal in the Under-10 Asian Chess Championship in Kazakhstan.

According Chess experts of the State, Her remarkable achievement marks a historic moment, as Arshia is the first girl from the state to raise the national flag in the Western Asian Chess Championship. Her success is a demonstration of her talent and determination, inspiring many to pursue their passions despite the challenges.

Prasenjit Dutta, coach at Matrix Chess Academy, expressed his elation and pride in Arshia's accomplishments. "Arshia has made us all proud with her outstanding performance. She is truly a golden girl, and we believe she will continue to achieve great success in standard chess as well," he said.

Dutta also added, Arshia’s journey in chess has been nothing short of extraordinary, and her future looks even brighter as she continues to make strides on the international stage.
