Tripura's young talent Oindrila Chakraborty shines at Oxford story writing contest

In a remarkable achievement that has put Tripura on the global literary map, 12-year-old Oindrila Chakraborty, currently residing in the United Arab Emirates, has been honored with a Certificate of Recognition.

Her creative prowess was showcased in the Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition 2024, an event organised by the Emirates Literature Foundation.

Oindrila, the daughter of Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty and Dr. Aasawari Chakraborty, is a seventh-grade student at a prestigious British School. Her narrative flair caught the attention of the acclaimed author Ms Kathy Hoopman, who served as the judge for the competition.

This is not Oindrila's first foray into the literary world. She previously secured the third prize in a young authors competition in India, and her short story was featured in the anthology "The Great Indian Teen Fiction Collective," released by Notion Press.

Demonstrating an early talent for storytelling, Oindrila published her debut fiction, "The Adventures of the Legendary Queen," at the tender age of 11.

This book, also published by Notion Press, has garnered international availability, listed on Amazon and various other e-commerce platforms.

Moreover, the book will be available at the Agartala Book Fair, bringing her work to the bookshelves of her hometown.
