INPT Supremo Bijay Kumar Hrangkhwal and second in command Jagadish Debbarma had met with Tripura Pradesh Congress President Pijush Biswas for a number times being the regional party to initiate talks regarding pre-poll alliance prior to the ADC polls.

INPT leaders though denied to pass any comments on the meeting, a Congress party insider and a loyalist to the TPCC President has said, a team of INPT top-brass along with Congress state chief will leave for Delhi to meet AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi. “There are areas where the ground level leaders are not pretty convinced with the way the ruling parties are trying to drive. Primarily, in IPFT, there are countless fractions right now. No MLA of the party has powers to do their thing on their own even in some areas they have been directed not to interfere in any development related works. The resentment is palpable which is further irritating the divisional heads”, he said.

The MLAs though have the administrative chair, but the party worker who is sweating in the ground to keep the party intact is getting nothing, he said adding that this practice had triggered serious resentment among the local leaders which the Congress party was willing to encash upon.

Nevertheless, the IPFT top-brass also reported to have lost credibility and organizational upper-hand at certain places due to the party's internal bickering and spoilsport of sidelining dedicated leaders.
