The Teliamura Block-based Farmers' Livelihood Meet, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, and the second phase of the Prati Ghare Sushasan program were held on Wednesday. Agriculture Minister of Tripura Ratan Lal Nath attended the programme and spoke in detail about the improved livelihood of farmers, as well as detailed information on how the benefits of good governance are reaching every household. He advised farmers to consult with the Agri-department and adopt scientific farming methods.
Ratan Lal Nath, the state's Agriculture and Power Minister, was present as the inaugural speaker at the block-based good governance and Farmers' Livelihood Fair held at the Teliamuria Block premises. Others present included Teliamura MLA and Chief Whip of State Assembly Kalyani Saha Ray, Sabhadhipati of the Khowai District Jayadeb Debbarma, Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abhijit Bhattacharjee and BDO Debapriya Das, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Jamuna Das, and Teliamura Municipal Chairman Rupak Sarkar.
He said, “I am very optimistic about the future of agriculture, seeing how progressive farmers in the Teliamura agricultural district have opened up new horizons of income through agriculture. I hope that the state will make significant progress in the field of agriculture, and good governance will make the home of every citizen of the state joyful and bright. A prosperous Tripura will be built”.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said, India is well on its way to occupying the top seat in the world arena. The current Prime Minister has taken up various projects to financially develop the farmers of rural areas to make the country self-reliant. The central and state governments are trying to implement these agriculture-dependent projects on a priority basis.
Various items were distributed among the various support groups and most successful farmers under Teliamuria TMR. Among these, a significant one is an auto truck, tractor. During the event, the agriculture department discussed how to do modern farming and how to apply medicine and fertilizer through drones.
In his speech, Minister Ratan Lal Nath informed the farmers about how to help them further and how to do agriculture in a better way. At the same time, he advised the farmers that no land should be fallow in agricultural work. Khowai district has not yet achieved self-sufficiency in food production. There is still some left. And for that, he advised the farmers to do scientific farming with the help of the department. Besides, he praised the success of various self-help groups of Teliamura Block.
