Violence in Manipur: Tripura CM talks to Biren Singh, appeals guardians not to worry

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is in touch with the Manipur Government to ensure the safety of the state's students studying in Manipur, following recent violence in Manipur.

 

Dr. Saha spoke with Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (May 5) regarding the situation and also held a meeting with the Chief Secretary of Tripura, J K Sinha, the DGP Amitabh Ranjan, and the secretaries of relevant departments to discuss the current situation of the students of Tripura studying at RIMS and Central Agricultural University in Manipur.

During the meeting, the DGP and representatives of the central forces present informed the Chief Minister that the situation was under control, and all necessary security measures had already been taken for the safety of the students of Tripura in Manipur. Dr. Saha also held discussions with the guardians of the students, who are currently in Manipur, and assured them that their wards were safe. He also appealed to the guardians not to worry and announced through a social media post that the state government is considering a plan to bring back the students for the time being.

 

Efforts have been made by the state government to keep in touch with the parents of the students, and regular communication is being maintained with the Manipur government by the state administration.

 

Helpline numbers have been provided by the state government for any kind of assistance, and the state administration is also in contact with the students studying in Manipur.

 

Secretary of ICA Dr. P.K. Chakraborty revealed in a press conference that around 200 students from Tripura are studying Engineering, Medical, and Agriculture in Manipur. He appealed to everyone not to pay attention to any rumors and stressed that there is no threat to the students of Tripura in Manipur.

 

Furthermore, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha also spoke with his Manipur counterpart regarding the issue to ensure the safety of the students from Tripura studying in Manipur. The state government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that the students are safe and secure during this period of unrest.

 

The state administration has assured the students' guardians that it is taking all possible steps to ensure their safety and that they need not worry.

 

Meantime, a group of guardians also met the State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee who also assured them that the State government was keeping a close on the developments in Manipur and working to ensure safety and security of students studying in Manipur.
