In an attempt to pay homage to eminent educationist of Tripura, late Kshetra Mohan Majumder, his sons and daughter-in-law under the banner of a trust constructed a Yatri Niwas and a Children’s Library in Agartala.
On the occasion of 11th death anniversary of Kshetra Mohan Majumder, “Kshetra Sindhu Memorial Trust (KSMT)” inaugurated “Kshetra Mohan Yatri Niwas” and “Usha Sindhu Children Library” at Kartik Chowmuhani Hapania on Tuesday.
Kshetra Mohan Majumder was one of those teachers who made untiring effort to impart education to children. As a teacher he made significant contributions in erstwhile Jolaibari HS School under South Tripura District. At that time, Jolaibari was a backward village only. However, he ensured that students get the best quality education and worked hard to this end.
In his memory, his son Dr Nilratan Majumder and his wife Prof Chandrika Majumder along with formed “Kshetra Sindhu Memorial Trust (KSMT)” and constructed a Yatri Niwas and Children’s library near Hapania Hospital. The purpose is to provide shelter to patients and their relatives who come for treatment at Hapania Hospital.
On Tuesday, in an humble programme, Yatri Niwas and Children’s Library were opened for public.
Subhakaranandaji Maharaj, secretary of Amtali Ramakrishna Mission inaugurated the function in presence of MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik, Justice SC Das, Dr Bikash Roy and other notable personalities remained present in the programme. A blood donation camp was also organized where 19 blood donors donated blood. Chairman of KSMT Dr Nilratan Majumder said that due to the Covid 19 pandemic both the infrastructure would begin functioning after Durga Puja.
