March 23, 2018: Smarting under by-poll debacle in Gorakhpur and Phulpur in Uttar Pradeh, BJP today secured a major victory on Friday as saffron Party won in nine out of ten Rajya Sabha seats. BJP left no stone unturned to win the RS Poll battle against its opponents.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley, BJP spokesman GVL Narasimha Rao and actress-politician Jaya Bachchan of the Samajwadi Party (SP) were the prominent winners in Uttar Pradesh. BJP has tasted success in RS Poll in other States too.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to all those elected to the Rajya Sabha from various states and best wishes for their Parliamentary career. I hope they effectively voice the aspirations of the states they will represent,”
