January 25, 2018: Hindi film Padmaavat was released all over the country today amid protests and high security.
In Rajasthan, most of the cinema halls did not screen the film. Rajput organizations had called for a public curfew, which saw partial impact in many places, including district headquarters.
In Gujarat, a bandh call given by Karni Sena and other anti- Padmavaat organisations evoked a mixed response. Normal life is running smoothly in most of the urban areas, including Ahmedabad.
In Madhya Pradesh, the film did not hit the screens as the multiplex association had decided not to show it.
In Chhattiagarh, over a 100 people belonging to different outfits were arrested for taking part in protests against the film in some major cities of the state.
The film, which was released in theatres across the state amidst tight security, attracted sporadic protests.
In Maharashtra, the film was released without any untoward incident. (AIR News)
