August 22, 2018: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Gurudas Kamat passed away after a heart attack in New Delhi today. The 63-year-old leader breathed his last at a private hospital where he was taken this morning after he complained of breathlessness.
UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the hospital and paid her last respects to the departed leader. Congress President Rahul Gandhi said the passing away of Gurudas Kamat is a massive blow to the Congress family.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee also expressed shock over his untimely demise. Home Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his anguish describing Kamat as a seasoned leader who had also served the nation as the Minister of State for Home.
