Ally of ruling alliance, IPFT has called a day long strike on Wednesday in TTAADC areas under Unakoti district in Tripura in support of 7-point demand protesting against BJP’s alleged attack on IPFT workers in different areas.
Party sources said, Unakoti District Committee of IPFT has called a 24 hours strike at all the ADC areas under Unakoti district tomorrow protesting against allegedly relentless violence and corruption of its ally – BJP.
Unakoti District Committee president of IPFT Joy Kishan Debbarma addressing a press conference today after a meeting of IPFT at Singarbil in Kailashahar under Unakoti in Tripura also pointed fingers at the BJP ruled Panchayati Raj Institutions and alleged that large scale misappropriation of funds were taking place depriving common people of development.
Joy Kishan further said, the strike will start from 6 a.m. on August 05 and continue up to 6 a.m. on August 6. The workers of IPFT will come down to streets for picketing in different areas tomorrow morning.
Highlighting ‘relentless violence’ and ‘corruption’ of the ruling party he alleged that OC of Kailashahar Police Station had not arrested anyone after filing a case at the police station on the charges of attacking the District president of IPFT on July 1, 2020.
The IPFT leaders also detailed about 6 point charters of demands and said, the party demands justice for party workers at Juricherra camp who came under attacks. The party also demanded proper selection of beneficiaries under different government sponsored schemes.
Besides, the party also demanded to rectify irregularities took place at various forest projects under Forest Department. The Party also demanded action against substandard quality of works under PWD and CPWD. In view of alleged corruption under MNREGA, the IPFT leaders demanded steps to stop the ‘corruption’. On top of that, they demanded arrest of the miscreants according FIR lodged in protest of attacking District president of IPFT.
