As many as 2.74 crore person days have been created under MNREGA in the current financial year among the total 4 crore projected labour budget.
While the state registered 48 mandays work on an average, the figure in 12 aspirational blocks stands 82 person days.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was informed this while charing a review meeting of the Tripura State Employment Guarantee Council at Civil Secretariat on Thursday.
Taking part in the discussion, Secretary to Rural Development Saumya Gupta apprised the Chief Minister that the state had recorded 108.18 percent achievement in terms of mandays creation during the current financial year.
She also stated that the Union Rural Development Ministry had already allowed Dragon fruit cultivation as permissible act while necessary initiatives were made to bring the same status for pineapple cultivation too.
Meanwhile, there are total 6.18 lakh MGNREGA job card holders 1178 Panchayats and Villages under 58 blocks across the state.
Addressing the review meeting, the Chief Minister said that his government was committed to ensure development of rural economy and employment to the people.
He advised the concerned officials to emphasize on creating permanent assets, afforestation, improvement of rural roads and agriculture under REGA.
The Chief Minister also encouraged the concerned officials to implement REGA works with a specific goal of reaching the top position in the country.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrates of all eight districts discussed about various projects which are under implementation in their respective areas. The other important projects under MGNREGA were also discussed in the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, Agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLA Ranjit Das, MLA Sankar Roy, MLA SUbhash Chandra Das, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Dr. D.K. Sarma and principal secretary to Chief Minister- J.K. Sinha along with the officials of various departments were also present in the review meeting.
