Fatal Expressway Collision Leaves Three Dead in Rajasthan
Alwar (Rajasthan), Dec 17: In a fatal expressway collision three persons were burnt alive on Wednesday in Delhi–Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Alwar district
According to police officials, three people lost their lives after a pickup truck rammed into another truck and burst into flames on Wednesday.
The fatal accident took place near channel number 131.5 under the jurisdiction of Raini police station when a pickup vehicle travelling from Delhi towards Jaipur collided with a truck moving ahead of it.
The force of the impact reportedly generated sparks, triggering a massive fire that engulfed the pickup truck within moments.
Police and fire department teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and launched firefighting and rescue operations. Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) also reached the scene and assisted in rescuing the occupants trapped inside the burning vehicle.
The incident comes close on the heels of another major tragedy on northern India’s expressway network. Just a day earlier, at least 13 people were killed and several others injured in a massive 10-vehicle pile-up on the Delhi–Agra Expressway in Mathura, reportedly caused by poor visibility due to dense fog.
Four people were travelling in the pickup truck at the time of the accident. All of them sustained severe burn injuries and were rushed to Raini hospital.
Three victims later succumbed to their injuries, while the critically injured driver was referred to Jaipur for advanced medical treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Mohit, a resident of Bahadurgarh in Haryana, and Deependra and Padam, both hailing from Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.

The injured driver, identified as Hanny, is a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the Raini hospital mortuary, and their families have been informed, police said.
While initial reports suggested that multiple vehicles may have been involved in the collision, officials stated that only the pickup truck was found at the scene when authorities arrived. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
