Kolkata May 19, 2025: The sit-in demonstration by unemployed teachers has entered its 12th consecutive day at Bikash Bhavan, as frustration grows over the state government’s silence on their demands for employment and fair treatment.
The protest, which initially began with teaching aspirants, has now expanded to include non-teaching staff as well, creating a united front demanding urgent action from the authorities.

Speaking to the media, one of the protesters shared the latest developments: “Both teaching and non-teaching staff have now come together in solidarity. Despite the incident on the 15th, where police officers behaved inappropriately with us, the government has not issued any statement or addressed our concerns.”
The demonstrating individuals allege that their repeated pleas have gone unanswered, and they continue to seek official recognition and resolution of their grievances.
