Even as all the contacts of a lone Covid19 patients tested negative and lone patient was discharged from the Hospital, one village under Sepahijala in Tripura still remained in Containment zone and owing to alleged indifference of local adminsitration, locals are living in utter distress.
Frustrated at the ‘indifference’ of the administration, People of Miyapara under Kamalasagar staged demonstration on the 18th day after their village was declared as ‘containment zone’. Agitating people said, the village was announced as containment zone 18 days ago after one of the Health workers tested Covid19 positive.
However, the health worker got cured and had returned home – moreover, all the samples collected from the village were found negative. Despite this, our village continues to be in Containment zone.
Agitating villagers demanded that with 18 days elapsed and no more Covid19 patients were found – the containment zone restriction must be immediately withdrawn.
“After declaring Miyapara as Containment Zone, the administration never enquired about our problems and situation. We did not receive anything – not even from Ration shops. Out 20 families living in the village, 17 families belong to financially vulnerable segment – and these families are spending days in hapless condition”, villagers said.
People are unable to come out of the village and go for works for the last 18 days due to Containment zone restrictions. As things are normal now, we are holding agitation for an immediate withdrawal of Containment Zone restrictions.
