Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma on Monday said the incumbent government is working to promote indigenous tradition and culture. The previous government failed miserably in this sector.
Taking a dig at the previous government, Dev Verma said, the previous government cannot promote the rich indigenous culture of the state. However, after the political change of guard, the new government has taken this sector on priority basis. The government is relentlessly bringing new ideas to help the state’s rich culture so that it can draw more and more attention, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister who had inaugurated a newly constructed community hall at Charilam’s Rangmala ADC Village under Sepahijala in Tripura also pointed out that community halls should display the cultural essence of the area where it had been built.
The new community hall could house 200 audiences at a time and it was constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lakh 16 thousand.
“The government has also undertaken several decisions to highlight Tripura’s heritage at the global platform”, Dev Varma concluded.
