To address the situation, the Mizoram government has formed a committee led by Home Minister Lalchamliana.

The committee was established at the directive of Chief Minister Zoramthanga to address various aspects related to the internally displaced people from Manipur. The violence in Manipur has resulted in over 100 fatalities and 320 injuries.

In order to provide assistance to the displaced individuals from Manipur, the Mizoram government has decided to carry out proper profiling and registration of those affected. Furthermore, efforts are underway to enroll displaced children in government schools.

Presently, around 9,501 tribal individuals from Manipur are being housed in various community halls, churches, government buildings, and the homes of relatives.

In a separate development, approximately 1,200 men, women, and children from Manipur have sought shelter in around 12 camps located in Assam’s Cachar district. Officials in Silchar have stated that the Assam government is providing food and shelter to displaced individuals.
