The air resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bhole Baba Par Karega,” as men, women, and children participated in time-honored rituals, uniting in their reverence for Lord Shiva.

From the early hours of Sunday night, devotees in groups began their pilgrimage to the revered Shiva temples scattered across the city. Clad in traditional attire, they carried pots brimming with holy water, their faces alight with faith and enthusiasm.

The rhythmic chants and the fragrance of incense filled the streets, creating an atmosphere of divine serenity. Undeterred by the late hour and long walking, their vibrancy demonstrated unwavering devotion and love of Lord Shiva.

At the temples, the faithful offered water to the sacred Shiva Lingam, a ritual symbolizing purification and surrender to the divine. Alongside the water, they presented Bilva leaves (Bel Pata), considered especially dear to Lord Shiva, as offerings of gratitude and prayer.

The temples, adorned with flowers and illuminated by oil lamps, became sanctuaries of spiritual energy, drawing devotees from all walks of life.

One of the devotees, shared the deeper significance of these rituals with her voice filled with conviction.

“Pouring water on the Shiva Lingam is an act of devotion and humility,” she explained. “We pray for the well-being of our families—our husbands, children, and loved ones. We seek Lord Shiva’s blessings for prosperity, peace, and unity in our community. May Bhole Baba protect us from all evils and guide us toward righteousness.”

The last Monday of Shravan holds special significance in the Hindu calendar, as it concludes a month dedicated to Lord Shiva, a time when devotees observe fasts, perform rituals, and seek divine blessings.

Like other parts of the country, this day was marked in Tripura by an overwhelming sense of community, as people from diverse backgrounds came together to honor their shared faith.

The temples, bustling with activity, saw long queues of devotees waiting patiently to offer their prayers, their faces reflecting hope and devotion.

The vibrant energy of the day extended beyond the temples, as roadside stalls offered flowers, Bel pata, and other ritual items, adding to the festive spirit.

As the sun rose over Agartala, the city remained immersed in devotion, with the echoes of chants lingering in the air.

The final Shravan Monday of 2025 will be remembered as a day when devotees came together in a powerful display of faith, seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva for a harmonious and prosperous future.
