Tripura: BJP comes up with partial candidate list

January 27, 2018:Tripura unit of BJP finally has come up with its candidates’ list, albeit partial one in New Delhi today evening. Announcing the list, Union Minister JP Nadda said, out of total 60 seats, BJP would contest in 51 seats while its ally IPFT in nine seats. Out of 51 seats, Nadda released names of 44 candidates and rest of the names would be announced soon, Nadda said.

Among the notables, all the six TMC MLAs and one Congress MLA (all were sitting MLAs) who joined to BJP, have got tickets. BJP State president Biplab Deb will contest from Banamalipur Assembly Constituency. State BJP vice president Sbal Bhowmik will contest from Sonamura while Pratima Bhowmik will contest from Dhanpur against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
