- The Union Minister for Rural Development assured all the possible assistance to Tripura State and also assured to provide financial assistance of Rs. 241 Crore on urgent basis for Rural Development Sector in Tripura.
- The Chief Minister Tripura requested Union Finance Minister for sanction of Rs. 350 Crore to meet the committed liabilities of erstwhile Special Plan Assistance (SPA) which has been recommended by the NITI Ayog.
- The Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilisers assured full support for setting up of CIPET project in Tripura which may provide direct employment to about 5000 unemployed youths per year.
The Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb accompanied by his deputy Jishnu Debbarma today called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers and discussed about the development strategies and other issues. Both the CM and the deputy CM also called on Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, Smt Sumitra Mahajan, Arun Jaitley, Union Minister for Finance, Sri Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Rural Development, Anantkumar Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers at New Delhi.
It is learnt that the President of India conveyed his heartiest greetings to the people of Tripura and had a very positive discussion on various issues being faced by the State Government at present.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister of India today at 11.05 AM at Parliament House, the Chief Minister and the Dy Chief Minister sought his blessing for overall rapid & speedy socio-economic development of Tripura. The Chief Minister had detailed discussion with the Prime Minister on various important matters such as formation of Committee by the State Government for implementation of the 7th CPC in Tripura and various other issues.
Biplab Deb also requested the Prime Minister for considering feasibility of setting up of the AIIMS like Institution in Tripura for creation of world-class specialty and super-specialty Health facilities in Tripura.

During their meeting with the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the Chief Minister and Dy Chief Minister of Tripura discussed financial issues in details. The Chief Minister Tripura requested Union Finance Minister for sanction of Rs. 350 Crore to meet the committed liabilities of erstwhile Special Plan Assistance (SPA) which has been recommended by the NITI Ayog. The Union Finance Minister assured all the possible financial assistance to the State of Tripura.
The Union Minister for Human Resource Development ensured his full support and cooperation for speedy completion of all the remaining Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas in the State of Tripura. He also assured support for setting up of IIIT in Tripura on PPP model.
The issue regarding salaries of SSA teacher was also discussed in positive manner. Union Minister ensured his constant support to upgrade the present situation of below average Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in Tripura so as to take above national average in near future. The Union Minister also assured to provide all the possible support to the Government of Tripura so as to improve the quality and standard of the Teachers.

The Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilisers assured full support for setting up of CIPET project in Tripura which may provide direct employment to about 5000 unemployed youths per year. It has been agreed to inaugurate this project within the next two months and to name it as “Maa Tripura Sundari CIPET”. The Union Minister also assured support to set up Plastic Waste Management Center near CIPET. The Union Minister in Principle set up Plastic Park in Tripura. Biplab Deb wished to review the funding pattern from 50:50 to 90: 10. It is expected that this will lead to the generation of direct
employment to the tune of 3000-5000. There has been discussion on setting up of Petro-Chemical Complex in Tripura which will provide large employment opportunities and value addition for the Natural Gas resources available in the State. It has been decided to follow up the matter further with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
For promoting Jana-Aushadhi Centers in Tripura, the Union Minister assured that a CU Agent will be appointed in Tripura for assured supply of low cost generic medicines (Jana- Aushadhi) for the benefit of poor patients.
Biplab Deb also had meeting with Jayant Sinha, Minister of States for Civil Aviation who assured to consider proposal of the State Government to rename Agartala Airport as “Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport” shortly in positive manner.
Biplab Deb and Jishnu Debbarma also called on to Shri Amit Bhai Shahji, the National President of BJP at BJP Party office and sought his blessings for the welfare and development of Tripura.
Sources said, Overall the visit of the Chief Minister Biplab Deb and the Dy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma to New Delhi has been highly fruitful.
