In yet another big achievement of the Special Branch (SB) organization in smashing the extremism from Tripura, State Police, with the inputs from the SB, arrested four NLFT(BM) extremists on Friday.
Based on secret information available with the Special Branch, Gandacherra police led by SDPO Dashiram Reang arrested two hardcover NLFT(BM) extremists from a vehicle near Dangabari under Gandacherra police station and after interrogating the duo, two more associates have been arrested.
“Acting on a pin pointed input shared by Special Branch, Gandacherra police detained two hardcover NLFT(BM) listed extremists from a vehicle near Dangabari PS Gandacherra”, a Press release of Tripura Police read.
The arrested extremists are identified as Sanjoy Tripura (30) @ Sapre S/O Manojoy Tripura of Khagendra Roaja Para under the Ambassa Police Station and Akhindra Debbarma (31) @Shyama @Okhak S/O Biswananda Debbarma of Kata Lutma under the Salema PS. Two smart phones and cash Rs 15,000 seized from their possession.
According to the press release, the arrested extremists were collecting extortion money in the name of the banned NLFT(BM) from different areas of Dhalai district like Salema, Kachucherra, Kamalpur, Gandacherra and Raishyabari since July 2021.
They are being interrogated in Gandachhera PS in Dhalai District.
Taking the lead from the statement of two arrested NLFT cadres, two more associates – including one hailing from Bangladesh – have also been arrested from Raishya Bari. They are identified as Bailya Jamatia ( 28) S/o Sabda Kr. Jamayia of Paradise Chowmuhani under Raishya Bari and Rabi Kumar Tripura (45) S/o Bashi Kumar Tripura of village – Chailyatoli, Baghaicherra PS, Sajek Dist.- Rangamati in Bangladesh.
All four will be forwarded to the Court on Saturday (November 19, 2021).
