BJP in Tripura has, once again, received a major boost as more than 1500 people formally joined the saffron brigade at Jolaibari in South Tripura on Tuesday in presence of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

The joining prior to upcoming Civic Polls on November 25 next is expected to send a loud message in favour of BJP across the State. As many as 1583 voters from 508 families joined BJP in today’s programme at Jolaibari Higher Secondary School ground. Amidst cheering crowds, Deb welcomed the new entrants.

After Belonia and Sabroom in South District, it was another major joining programme in presence of the Chief Minister that triggered serious sliding in opposition camp.

Addressing an impressive gathering in which participation of women was noticeable, Biplab Kumar Deb said that the proposed Forensic Science University in the state would generate income scopes for around 7000 to 8000 people as well as government jobs for 300 to 500 people.

He reasoned, “No country in South-East Asia has a Forensic Science University; only Gujarat in India has such a prestigious institution. Now, Tripura is going to have the Forensic Science University following which people from the South-East Asian countries will visit Tripura to avail various facilities available under the Varsity.”

The University is being set up in Tripura on 50 acres land at an expenditure of Rs. 350 crore; the Centre would sanction Rs. 100 crore at the initial stage, Deb said, adding that around 4000 students would have the opportunity to study in the proposed Varsity in the next four years.

Deb also reiterated the shift in mentality of people after the BJP-led government assumed power in 2018. He continued and said, the mentality of dependence is fading away giving space for a will to attain self reliance. In this connection, he also mentioned emergence of SHGs in empowering rural women.
