Opposition leader of Tripura and CPM politburo member Manik Sarkar passed the bucks on to the ruling BJP, civil and police administration as well as the State Election Commission (SEC) for Left Front’s inability to file nominations in all of the Civic Bodies for upcoming Urban Local Body (ULBs) polls.
He, however, did not talk about any achievement during its stint in ULBs or for that matter, any future plan so that people may vote for the Leftists. During his over 40 minute speech, it appears Sarkar is trying to woo the voters on ‘negatives’ of BJP as continued to criticize the BJP-led State and Central Governments.
“It was due to the failure of State Election Commissioner, state’s general administration and police, the CPI-M were unable to put up their candidates at seven municipal councils, where the BJP managed to win uncontested,” Sarkar alleged adding that since the very beginning the BJP had throttled the voice of oppositions in this country.
Sarkar was addressing a poll campaign here at Agartala in support of the party candidate of the poll.
He targeted the incumbent BJP-IPFT government in Tripura and Sarkar alleged, “The voices of the democracy and of the oppositions are being throttled by the BJP government. Vote has been turned into a farce in the state since beginning under the rule of BJP-IPFT coalition government.”
The CPM leader alleged that misrule is prevailing in State and except for a small section of the society, most of the people are facing deprivation, For the ruling government, he said, return the democratic rights of people or else get ready to face a loss.”
“In this worsened situation, the economic condition of the state has been weakened and the state is reeling under acute crisis of work, where the poorer section of the people are deprived at large,” adding to this Sarkar said, “The people belonging to the minority communities are also facing attack.”
The Opposition leader continued and said, “People of this state who voted for BJP in 2018 general assembly elections are now frustrated from the misrule of the BJP government. People are now realising that they had done wrong by voting BJP to power.”
