Heinous Act in North Tripura: Grandpa Rapes, Kills 14-Month-Old Girl
Dharmanagar Oct 12: An incident of extreme degradation of humanity has come to light from the Panisagar subdivision area in North Tripura district. Allegations have been raised against a close relative—a grandfather—of raping and brutally murdering an innocent 14-month-old baby girl.
According to reports, the accused person’s name is Joynal Uddin (44), with his home in Ward No. 5 of North Padmabil Gram Panchayat in Panisagar subdivision. The incident occurred on Saturday night. It is known that after raping the child, the accused buried her under soil. He then fled from the scene.
The family members, unable to find the child anywhere, became panicked and informed the Panisagar police station. Later, with police assistance, a search was conducted in a field 100-150 meters behind the house, where the child’s lifeless body was recovered in a buried state.
Police from Panisagar station recovered the body and sent it to the morgue at Panisagar Subdivision Hospital for post-mortem examination. The accused Joynal Uddin had been on the run since the incident.
On Sunday (October 12), in the Batia area of Nilam Bazar in Assam’s Sribhumi district, the public detained him and handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, a special police team from Panisagar station has already initiated the process of bringing the accused back to Tripura.
Panisagar Subdivision Police Officer Rahul Balhera stated that charges of rape and murder have been filed against the detainee. The police have begun investigating the entire incident. An application will be submitted to present the detainee in court and seek police remand.
Additionally, once the post-mortem report is received, it will be confidentially determined whether murder and rape occurred. It is known that the child had come to visit her uncle’s house with her mother a few days ago. No one in the family could have imagined that such a demonic outcome would befall her at the hands of her own relative.
As news of this heinous incident spread, a shadow of grief and outrage has descended over the entire Panisagar area and North district. Local residents demand that the accused monster receive the harshest possible punishment.
