Five youths from Tripura excelled in IndiaSkills 2021 – Regional Competition (East) held at Patna in Bihar. The four-day competition started on October 20 last and curtains were drawn on Saturday (October 23, 2021). The winners have earned the qualification to compete in IndiaSkills Nationals in December, 2021.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb congratulated the winners. In a social media post on Sunday, Deb wrote, “The youth of #Tripura made us all proud today and showcased the beauty of regional skill on national level. Congratulations to the contingent of Tripura for bagging 1 gold and 4 silver (medals) at Regional Skill Competition in Patna”.
Candidates from eight States/Union Territories participated in the IndiaSkills 2021 – Regional Competition (East) and a total of 98 candidates, including five from Tripura, were declared winners.
In a programme held in Patna on Saturday, Governor of Bihar, Phagu Chauhan felicitated the winners. Each of the gold medal winners also received a cash prize of Rs 21,000 while the silver medalists received Rs 11,000 cash prize.
Notably, IndiaSkills competition is designed to demonstrate the highest standards of skills in the country and make vocational training aspirational for the youth.
More than 240 candidates from eight states and union territories competed in 42 skills in the Regional Competition (East). The winners have booked a place to compete in IndiaSkills Nationals (in Dec 2021),
The winners of the Indiaskills Nationals competition will earn a pass to enter the WorldSkills International Competition. The International level competition will be held at Shanghai in China in October 2022.
