IPFT leaders join BJP in Tripura ahead of ADC Polls
Gandacherra: Oct 5: Several leaders of the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a massive joining programme held at Roisyabari on Sunday.
The event, organized at the BJP’s Roisyabari party office, witnessed the formal induction of IPFT Roisyabari Regional Committee Vice president Hajendra Tripura along with four other local leaders and 24 supporters into the saffron party.
They were warmly welcomed into the BJP fold by Dhalai District president Patiram Tripura, Raimavalley Mandal president Dhanya Manik Tripura, and former Mandal president and influential local leader Samir Ranjan Tripura. Saffron leaders handed over the party flags to the new members.
Addressing the gathering, Dhalai District BJP president Patiram Tripura spoke extensively about the ongoing development initiatives undertaken by both the Central and State governments led by the BJP.
He said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a strong wave of development has been sweeping across the nation, and Tripura too has been reaping its benefits.
Highlighting the achievements of the state government, Patiram Tripura said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Tripura has witnessed remarkable progress in health, education, drinking water, electricity, and communication sectors. The standard of living in rural areas has significantly improved, and development is now reaching the grassroots.”
He further emphasized the transparency and people-oriented governance of the BJP administration, asserting that these successes have strengthened public trust in the party.
“It is this visible progress that is drawing people from all walks of life to join the BJP,” he remarked.

Other party leaders present on the occasion echoed the call for unity and collective effort to ensure the BJP’s victory in the upcoming ADC elections.
The atmosphere at the event was charged with enthusiasm and optimism as new members pledged their support to the party’s mission.
Concluding the programme, Patiram Tripura expressed confidence that the BJP would create history by forming its own government in the TTAADC for the first time in 2026.
“The foundation has already been laid — it’s now only a matter of time,” he said resolutely, amid cheers from the crowd.
Notably, IPFT is an ally of the ruling BJP. In the 2023 Assembly polls, Sukla Charan Noaria was the lone successful IPFT candidate. Later, he was inducted into the State Cabinet.
