Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb warned the brick kiln owners against any attempt to increase the price of bricks.

In a clear and stern message, Deb said while addressing a public rally in Sabroom on Sunday, “the brick kiln owners have started a new ploy. They are saying that prices of bricks will be increased as coal is not available.” The Chief Minister continued and said, “I am warning the brick kiln owners that Government will not allow any such attempt to inflate the brick prices. If anyone increases the price, steps will be taken after investigation.”

Apart from brick kiln owners, he also cautioned other traders engaged in construction material trading. Deb said, “Under the PMAY, sanctions were given for construction of large number houses for the beneficiaries. However, any attempt is made artificially to increase the prices of construction materials, stern actions will be taken against the offenders”, he warned.
