He also wished Adhikari success in working for the development and progress of West Bengal.

Tripura BJP leaders, including Dr Saha and MP Biplab Kumar Deb, actively took part in the Bengal poll campaigns.

Assam CM Calls It a Historic Political Shift

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called the BJP’s rise to power in West Bengal a “historic political moment” for the party and the NDA alliance.

Speaking to reporters, Sarma said the political change in West Bengal would further expand the BJP’s influence across eastern and northeastern India.

He said the swearing-in ceremony would be a landmark event for the NDA. According to Sarma, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers from nearly 21 states were expected to attend the event in Kolkata.

“Tomorrow is a day of victory for us,” Sarma said while describing the ceremony as a major achievement for the BJP-led alliance.

He also noted that most states in eastern and northeastern India are now governed either by the BJP or its allies. According to him, this political alignment would improve cooperation among states and help speed up regional development projects.

Focus on Development and Connectivity

Sarma stressed that stronger coordination among NDA-ruled states would improve infrastructure, trade links and internal security across the region.

He said better political cooperation would also help states work more effectively on connectivity projects and economic growth initiatives.

The Assam CM added that the BJP government’s expansion in eastern India would create new opportunities for coordinated development in the NE as well.

Sarma Speaks on Violence and Border Security

Reacting to reports of post-election violence in West Bengal, Sarma expressed optimism. He said that the situation would improve once the new government formally took charge.

He said peace and normalcy would gradually return across the state after the swearing-in ceremony.

Sarma also reiterated the BJP government’s stand on illegal immigration and border security. He said sealing international borders and preventing fresh infiltration remained key priorities for the government.

According to him, fencing and surveillance measures along the border would continue to be strengthened. At the same time, the process of identifying and deporting illegal immigrants would continue gradually within the legal framework.

Sarma said the government remained committed to protecting national security and maintaining demographic balance while handling the issue lawfully.

The BJP leadership believes the new political developments in West Bengal will further strengthen the NDA’s presence in eastern India.  They expect this will improve regional coordination between BJP-ruled states. (With IANS inputs)
