Mizo Cultural Meet 2025 Lights Up Jampui Hill with Colour and Unity
Jampui Hill (Tripura), Oct 17: The tranquil Vanghmun playground in North Tripura burst into colour, rhythm, and jubilation on Friday as hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the Mizo Cultural Meet 2025.
The grand event, jointly hosted by the Tripura Group YMA and the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Mizoram – with financial assistance from the Mizoram government – served as a vibrant showcase of Mizo culture, tradition, and solidarity.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Mizoram’s Minister for Art & Culture, C. Lalsawivunga, praised the Mizos of Tripura for their exemplary efforts in maintaining cleanliness, fostering socio-economic growth, and promoting peace and harmony. Their contributions, he said, stood as an inspiration for other communities in the state.
In his address, the Minister urged the community to remain steadfast in moral integrity, pursue educational excellence, and uphold a strong work ethic rooted in the Mizo principle of “Tlawmngaihna” – the spirit of selfless service and sacrifice.

He further advised the younger generation to use technology wisely, ensuring that modern influences do not overshadow their cherished traditions and values.
Deputy Director of Art & Culture, Mizoram, F. Lalnunmawia, highlighted the department’s ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Mizo art forms, language, and traditions—both within Mizoram and among the global Mizo diaspora.

Throughout the day-long celebration, the audience was treated to an enthralling blend of folk, traditional, and modern Mizo music and dance performances. Participants of all ages, adorned in dazzling ethnic attire, turned the venue into a spectacular canvas of cultural pride and joy.

On the sidelines of the event, leaders from major Mizo organisations – including the Tripura Group YMA, Mizo Convention, MUP, and MHIP – convened to discuss strategies for strengthening bonds between the Mizos of Tripura and the broader Mizo diaspora.
The dialogue reaffirmed their collective commitment to advancing education, culture, and social development through greater unity and cooperation.
