In every election BJP’s main agenda in polls is nothing but more development – in the forthcoming Civic Body Polls also, BJP is seeking votes for further development, said Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik while speaking at a poll rally in Dharmanagar on Saturday.
“Due to the failure of elected members of the previous MC body, people living in the Dharmanagar Municipal Council area were deprived of various civic services. There is no dearth of fund for improving the civic services” Bhowmik said and urged people to vote for BJP nominated candidates in upcoming Municipal and Nagar Panchayat polls.
The MoS was addressing an election rally organized in support of BJP candidate, Rupali Adhikari who is also the president of North District Mahila Morcha.
Referring to various development initiatives of the governments, Bhowmik said, The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister stood by the people all the times and distributed funds among the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for several welfare activities. The DBT proved an efficient tool in transferring fund on many occasions, like tackling Covid crisis, constructing under the PMAY etc., the Minister asserted.
She also mentioned roles of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and local MLA cum Deputy Speaker of Tripura Biswabandhu Sen in developing and beautifying the Dharmanagar MC areas.
“The Opposition parties failed to field candidates in 122 wards in several Municipal and Nagar Panchayat wards. People have already rejected the Opposition parties”, she said.
Commenting on the recent political violence in the State, Pratima Bhowmik held the previous government responsible.
“Opposition parties are making noises over political violence, however, they are the original creator of such kind of violence”, she said.
