Shantikali Ashram Lodges Multiple FIRs Against YouTuber
Agartala, Oct 16: The All Tripura Shantikali Ashram Committee has initiated legal action against one YouTuber, Baby Jamatia, accusing her of publishing defamatory and offensive content targeting the Ashram and its devotees.
According to the Committee, multiple FIRs have been filed across several police stations in Tripura against Baby Jamatia, the creator of the YouTube channel “Baby Jamatia ni Family Vlog.”
The complaints have been registered for allegedly spreading false, indecent, and religiously derogatory material through social media platforms.
The Ashram has alleged that the youtuber made baseless and malicious claims, linking the spiritual institution to “witchcraft” and “evil practices.”
She has also been accused of using derogatory and indecent language against monks and followers, sharing obscene and misleading remarks, and making statements that could provoke religious discord and disturb communal harmony.
“The content disseminated through her channel has hurt the sentiments of our devotees and tarnished the image of a respected religious institution,” the Ashram’s General Secretary, Sukesh Kalai, said in a press release issued today.
The Committee has appealed to the authorities to take immediate and stringent legal action, including the arrest of accused youtuber, to prevent the further spread of what it described as “malicious propaganda.”

Reiterating its commitment to peace, dignity, and social harmony, the Shantikali Ashram affirmed that it would extend full cooperation to the police and investigating agencies throughout the legal process.
Notably Chitta Ranjan Debbarma, popularly known as Chitta Maharaj of the Shantikali ashram was conferred upon the Padma Shree award in the category of Others – spiritualism – for 2024.
