The ruling BJP has appealed to its supporters and workers on Saturday to ensure peace during and after the counting of votes to Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and 13 other Urban Local Body polls. Counting will be held on Sunday (November 28). The Party also urged the party men to maintain law and order.

 

The ruling BJP in a press release stated, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is hopeful that the counting process will be completed normally and peacefully.”
 

The press release also mentioned, “At the same time, the security forces have been urged to co-operate in all possible ways to ensure that law and order situation does not deteriorate anywhere in the state.”
 

“Party workers need to keep in mind that they should not fall into the trap of provocation. Any attempt to create an atmosphere of violence must be resisted. Every activist must play an active role in fulfilling the expectations of the people while maintaining the culture and tradition of the party,” it stated.
 

Party President Dr.Manik had apprised all the State and District office bearers and MLAs of the party of the decisions and direction of the party and urged to abide by the guidelines of the party during and after the poll counting.
 

On the other hand Minister Ramprasad Pal on Saturday appealed to the party workers of his constituency to refrain from violence during the poll counting.
 

He said, “The law and order situation during the poll counting should need to be maintained. We need to work united with our opposition friends for the development of our state.”
