Government is paying utmost importance to the health safety of mother and child in the state. Necessary steps are being taken for health safety of children on priority basis, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said after inaugurating state level ‘Mukhyamantri Shustho Shoishob, Shustho Koishor Abhiyan’ at Rabindra Bhawan on Tuesday. This 15 – day initiative has been taken up to protect 13 lakh children and adolescent from different diseases.

 

The initiative includes programmes like de-worming of children, providing vitamin, nutrition and iron folic acid to children and prevention of severe Diarrhea etc. ASHA, Anganwadi, MPW and ANM workers will be there to provide door to door advice and create awareness about children and adolescent medicines.

 

This initiative has been taken jointly by Health and Family Welfare department and Social Welfare & Social Education department to ensure health for all.

 

The Chief Minister in his speech said, government has taken different plans for health care and safety of mother and child. The main aim of this initiative is to build disease-free, healthy and protected future of future generations. Today’s children are the driving force of coming days. Like a student’s base of seeking higher education begins at primary level, similarly to ensure healthy future of children, this initiative has been taken up.

 

Deb said, the most important factor for good health is drinking water, for which steps have been taken to provide clean drinking water to each and every home by December 2022.

 

Works are under progress in the entire state to ensure health care and health safety through decentralization of health services, infrastructure development, e-services, transformation in Health and Wellness Centers, development of Primary Health Centers etc.

 

 

Different programmes for welfare of people including Ayushman Bharat are successfully being implemented in the state presently because of right management.

 

Trend of referring patients outside the state has decreased because of development in health services. Complicated surgeries are now possible in the state.

 

Deb lauded the Prime Minister for creating study environment for girl students in the schools with his far-sightedness and right management, as a result of which, there is rise in girl students attending schools.

 

Besides development in health sector, SHGs of the state are playing important role in creating income especially for women empowerment. Government emphasizes on increasing participation of women to strengthen their economic condition.

 

Chief Secretary Kumar Alok in his speech stated, let the main motive of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav be freedom from diseases. ‘Mukhyamantri Shustho Shoishob, Shustho Koishor Abhiyan’ has been implemented to build healthy Tripura in future. If people are made habituated with this service, only then its positive result will be achieved. Earlier there was lack of awareness in the country regarding hygiene. But presently, there have been many changes with positive steps taken.

 

He ordered to implement this programme in mission mode in the state.

 

Principal Secretary of health department J.K Sinha in his speech said, health safety is one of the key factors among other factors on which Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated in the country.  

 

Others present in the programme were Director of Health Dr. Subhashish Debbarma, Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine department Dr. Radha Debbarma, and Director of National Health Mission Dr. Siddharth Shib Jaiswal.
