Leaders of the Tripura unit of Amra Bangali condemned the alleged killing of farmers at Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh and demanded the government to initiate immediate action against the culprits.
Tripura State secretary of Amra Bangali Gauranga Rudra Pal said although many farmers have lost their lives in the process of carrying out the movement by enduring unbearable misery in the winter-summer-monsoon, it does not seem to have made a mark in the minds of the ruling party leaders of the country.
Criticizing the Union Government, Amra Bangali leaders alleged, in the name of negotiations at different times, the central government has come up with new tactics on how to thwart the peasant movement.
Amra Bangali leaders narrated the Lakhimpur violence and alleged, the whole country is now mourning and outrage over this tragic incident is palpable.
“We are strongly protesting the killing of the farmers and demand immediate and severe punishment for the culprits. At the same time, the government needs to provide adequate compensation to every farmer’s family who was killed or injured,” Amra Bangali leaders said.
On another note, Gauranga Rudra Pal said, “We demand the state government to regularise the safai and sanitary workers in GBP hospital with immediate payment of their arrears”. He also said, if the workers are not regularised, Amra Bangali will keep on backing the mass movements of the safai workers.
