SFI state secretary Sandipan Deb said, “The sudden notification of the Tripura University which postponed the scheduled examinations has triggered resentment among the candidates who were preparing for their examinations. We oppose the decision of Tripura University as this would hamper the career of the students of different degree colleges and especially the students of technical institutions.”

“At a time when the central universities of different states have already announced their results, the Tripura Central University is lagging behind from conducting the pending examinations and in addition to this the varsity in its sudden decision had postponed other scheduled examinations,” Deb said.

The SFI and TSU leaders demanded the Tripura Varsity to conduct the postponed examinations online and announce the results to complete the academic year by August 31 next in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC released in the month of July last.

Deb also condemned the alleged police lathi charge on D.El.Ed students and lambasted the BJP government.
