However, Dr. Saha also criticised the former Left Front government over its development record. He alleged that the previous administration had failed to deliver adequate progress despite remaining in power for an extended period.
New DM Office in Dharmanagar
Dr. Saha inaugurated the newly constructed District Magistrate and Collector’s Office in Dharmanagar, North Tripura district. During the programme, he virtually inaugurated projects and laid foundation stones for other initiatives covering 50 projects worth Rs. 176 crore.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said these projects reflected the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the public. He maintained that development initiatives across Tripura were producing tangible results and reaching people in North Tripura.
Dr. Saha stressed the importance of balanced development. He said the government wanted every region of the state to benefit from infrastructure improvements and public welfare initiatives.
He contrasted his administration’s approach with what he described as the previous emphasis on promises of a golden era. According to him, the present government prioritised practical action and visible results.
The Chief Minister also said the government had inaugurated projects and laid foundation stones for development initiatives worth more than Rs. 1,000 crore during the current year. He expressed confidence that the new administrative office and other projects would strengthen development prospects in North Tripura.
Saha Links State Development to Viksit Bharat 2047
Dr. Saha said Tripura was progressing along the development path outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that the state government was working to contribute to the national goal of building a developed India by 2047.
The Chief Minister said the administration followed the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ under the Prime Minister’s guidance.
He emphasised that development involved more than constructing buildings, roads and other infrastructure. The government also aimed to improve living standards and ensure that eligible beneficiaries received direct assistance through public welfare schemes.
According to Dr. Saha, inclusive growth required better access to essential services and effective delivery of government benefits. He reiterated that the administration would continue to extend development activities across Tripura rather than concentrate resources in selected areas.
Rs. 40 Crore Projects in Unakoti; Saha Targets Left Front
At a separate programme in Unakoti district, Dr. Saha inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 21 development projects involving expenditure of more than Rs. 40 crore.
He said the government regularly inaugurated completed projects and initiated new development works across Tripura.

Recalling the BJP government’s assumption of power in 2018, the Chief Minister said the former administration had frequently spoken about a ‘Swarna Yug’, or golden era. However, he claimed that the incoming government had found a debt burden of Rs. 13,000 crore.
Dr. Saha alleged that the previous government had failed to undertake sufficient development work, creating difficulties for its successor. He said people could now see the difference through the projects undertaken by the BJP-led administration.
He also accused opposition parties of overlooking development achievements and attempting to mislead the public. The Chief Minister called on political opponents to support initiatives aimed at improving Tripura rather than obstructing progress.
Education, Healthcare and Connectivity Remain Priorities
Dr. Saha identified education, healthcare and connectivity as essential pillars of development. He said improvements in these sectors would help Tripura achieve the vision of ‘Srestha Tripura’.

He also emphasised grassroots development and the need to address the concerns of women, farmers, economically disadvantaged people and young citizens.
According to Dr. Saha, the government must use every available opportunity to improve people’s lives and prepare the state for future generations. He said development initiatives should cover all sectors and deliver benefits to communities at the grassroots level.
Rainfall Affects Project Implementation
The Chief Minister identified rainfall as a major challenge to the implementation of development projects this year. He said the rains began in March, leaving the government with only four months to carry out the planned work.
Dr. Saha added that he had repeatedly raised Tripura’s concerns with the Centre. He stressed the importance of sustained efforts to complete development initiatives despite implementation challenges.
He reiterated that the government would continue working across sectors to improve public services and expand development opportunities throughout the state.
