Tripura will mobilise government departments, elected representatives, self-help groups, students and citizens across the state for a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, a public service campaign from September 17, with welfare delivery and good governance at its core.

The Tripura government will launch the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha announced on Monday.
The campaign will continue until October 17 and will be guided by the principle ‘Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva’. The government plans to use the campaign to take welfare benefits closer to people while promoting public participation, social service, innovation and good governance.
Saha announced at a press conference at the state secretariat. He said Modi’s public service journey began in October 2001, when he took oath as Gujarat Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said service, good governance and welfare of the poor remain central to Modi’s governance philosophy. He added that ensuring government schemes reach the poorest sections and the last person in society has been a key focus.
Multiple programmes across Tripura
The campaign will feature several initiatives, including ‘Ashirvaad Ka Diya’, ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat – Chitra Seva’, ‘Namo Seva – Ankahi Kahaniya’, ‘Angan Milan Seva’, ‘Seva Ki Kahani’, ‘Seva Jyoti Kalas Jatra’, ‘Seva Meri Yogdan’, ‘Seva Setu’, ‘Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang’, ‘Seva First Innovation Challenge’ and ‘Sushason Sambad’.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has been appointed the Nodal Minister for the campaign. Other ministers will monitor activities in different districts. MLAs and other public representatives will also support implementation.
A committee comprising Secretaries and District Magistrates has been formed to prepare the action plan and track progress. The Information and Cultural Affairs Department will serve as the nodal department.
Six lakh diyas to mark Seva Divas
The campaign will begin with ‘Ashirvaad Ka Diya’ on September 17. More than six lakh diyas will be arranged for lighting at important locations in rural and urban areas and in people’s homes.
Self-help groups will make diyas that will be sold at ration shops, panchayat offices and Arogya Mandirs. Blood donation camps will also be held at different locations to mark ‘Seva Divas’.
Special programmes are planned at Ujjayanta Palace, Jagannath Dighi and Laxmi Narayan Dighi in Agartala. Events will also be held at Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Kalibari Dighi in Dharmanagar, Neermahal in Sonamura and Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar.
Art competitions and Anganwadi outreach
From September 29 to October 17, ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat – Chitra Seva’ will organize art competitions for school students at 4,945 locations across Tripura.
The theme will be ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp – 25 Years of Prime Minister Modi’s Seva Works’. Speech competitions will also be conducted.
The ‘Namo Seva – Ankahi Kahaniya’ programme will use 25 to 30-minute street plays to highlight Modi’s 25 years of public service, welfare schemes and their reported impact.
The ‘Angan Milan Seva’ programme will cover 10,479 Anganwadi Centres. It will explain their services to parents and create awareness about women-focused welfare schemes and other flagship programmes.
Welfare delivery at the grassroots
‘Seva Ki Kahani’ will provide beneficiaries of schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, PM-Kisan and PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana an opportunity to share their experiences.
The ‘Seva Jyoti Kalas Yatra’ will pass through 1,193 villages and 21 towns through torch, cycle and bike rallies. Youth participation will be encouraged.
The campaign will also include a collective pledge to build a developed India by 2047. Beneficiaries will share their experiences during the programme.
Under ‘Seva Meri Yogdan’, citizens will be encouraged to contribute to nation-building by dedicating 25 minutes to social service. Plantation drives, blood donation and cleanliness activities will form part of the initiative.
85 Mega Camps for scheme access
The ‘Seva Setu’ programme will organize 85 Mega Camps across Tripura from September 29 to October 17.
The camps will help people access Central and state government schemes. They will provide online application facilities and on-the-spot disposal of eligible cases. Beneficiaries will also be able to provide feedback.
Similar camps may be organized at panchayat and Nagar Panchayat levels if required.
Innovation and good governance
The ‘Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang’ initiative will feature large human rangolis and community artworks at important locations. The artworks will highlight welfare schemes, the national emblem and the message of Viksit Bharat.
Artists, women, SHGs, NCC members and students will participate, with emphasis on natural and locally available materials.
The ‘Seva First Innovation Challenge’ will seek solutions to challenges involving governance, citizen services, welfare delivery and local development. Start-ups, students, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs and educational institutions will be invited to propose technology-based solutions.
The initiative will also seek to strengthen the ‘Start-up Tripura’ ecosystem, provide incubation support, identify investment opportunities and promote skill development.
Under ‘Sushason Sambad’, discussions and exchange seminars will focus on good governance and best practices. Youth, public representatives, women’s SHGs and SC, ST and OBC representatives will participate.
The Rural Development (Panchayat) Department will coordinate with the Ministry of Rural Development to select Pradhans and public representatives for national-level programmes at eight locations. Participation of Tripura volunteers in the proposed ‘Seva Jatra’ from Bhadnagar to Varanasi is also under consideration.
