February 05, 2018: Prime Minister Narendra Modi – aiming to boost chances of BJP in Tripura – will address two election rallies at Sonamura under Sepahijala district and Kailashahar under Unakoti district on February 8.
BJP sources said, local leaders are expecting more than one lakh turnout in each of the two rallies.
As part of foolproof security during Prime Minister’s visit, an SPG team has already reached the state and visited the proposed venues. The SPG team also held meetings with local administrative and police officials of both sub-divisions.
The Prime Minister will attend the first rally at Rangamatia in Sonamura and then he will fly to Kailashahar by a chopper, party sources said.
Party’s state observer Sunil Deodhar have on Monday confirmed about the Prime Minister’s Sonamura visit.
Meanwhile, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, Union Minority Affairs Minister Muktar Abbas Naqvi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also visit Tripura and join BJP’s campaign trail. However, party sources said the schedule of their visits has not been finalized yet.
