Agartala (Tripura), June 28: Tripura’s ‘double-engine’ government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, is steadfastly committed to ensuring inclusive development, particularly for the state’s Janajati (tribal) communities. This assertion was made by Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath during an outreach program held at Mohanpur under the West Tripura District on Saturday aiming at bringing essential government services directly to the grassroots.
Speaking at the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Varsh – Dharti Aaba Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan event held at Rangachhara Gram Panchayat in Mohanpur R.D. Block, Minister Nath underscored the efficiency of the dual leadership in delivering critical services at the village level. He highlighted the government’s initiative to consolidate various departmental services onto a single platform, making governance more accessible to citizens.
“To empower our communities, all government departments have converged here. Residents who haven’t yet received their social pensions can easily approach our officials, complete a form, and we will ensure they receive the necessary assistance,” Minister Nath stated, emphasizing the streamlined process for beneficiaries.
As the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Nath further detailed the wide array of services offered at the outreach camp. These included the issuance of vital documents such as Aadhaar, PAN, ration, and birth certificates, alongside the provision of essential medicines. The event also showcased the vibrancy of local Self-Help Groups (SHGs), which proudly displayed and sold their handcrafted products. In a move to foster sustainable agricultural practices and self-reliance, fruit saplings were distributed to farmers.
The strategic outreach initiative is specifically designed to bridge the gap between government services and underserved tribal areas, ensuring effective last-mile delivery. During the program, numerous beneficiaries received crucial documents, including Aadhaar cards, Permanent Resident Certificates, ST Certificates, and marriage certificates. Additionally, agricultural equipment was distributed, providing tangible support to local farmers and strengthening rural livelihoods.
Minister Nath lauded the visionary leadership of both Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Saha, reiterating the government’s unwavering dedication to the upliftment of tribal communities. “Our government is working with relentless commitment to elevate our tribal brothers and sisters. This truly embodies the impact of a double-engine government – it is focused, efficient, and fundamentally inclusive,” he affirmed.
He concluded his address with a heartfelt message, expressing his hope for the Janajati communities to live with happiness and self-sufficiency, and reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting their journey towards progress and dignity.
