Agartala (Tripura), June 27: The Tripura State Cooperative Bank (TSCB) reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare and financial inclusion during its 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Saturday at the Agartala Town Hall.
A significant highlight of the event was the bank’s donation of Rs 15 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, sourced from its profits of the preceding fiscal year.
Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, a prominent attendee, lauded the bank’s pivotal role in expanding financial services across Tripura, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
He noted the bank now operates 66 branches statewide, emphasizing its growing reach and importance in strengthening the state’s economic foundation.
“This contribution reflects our dedication to social welfare and our responsibility toward the community,” Minister Noatia stated, underlining the bank’s broader social objectives.
The AGM served as a platform for comprehensive discussions on TSCB’s future financial strategies, a review of its annual performance, and the presentation of a forward-looking action plan.
Minister Noatia also announced a record recruitment drive, with 156 new employees joining the bank, a move aimed at significantly enhancing customer service. He reiterated the bank’s ongoing mission to empower ordinary citizens through accessible and timely financial support, fostering self-reliance.
“The institution is playing a transformative role in helping people lead independent lives,” the Minister added.
Key officials present at the meeting included Managing Director Bhajan Chandra Ray, Chairman Nagadhiraj Datta, and Vice-Chairperson Uttara Debbarma, among others.
