One youth of Kalamchoura area under Sepahijala died in Kuwait reportedly, in an accident. However, family members of deceased contradicted the claim and alleged, two friends of the deceased were behind his death. The family members urged the concerned authority to take initiative to bring back mortal remains of Shahid at his native place.
A 23-year old youth – Shahid Mian of Aadampur area under Kalamchoura PS went to Kuwait for around one year ago. On July 7, his family members got the message that Shahid died in an accident.
Family members said, Shahid flew to Kuwait in search of a job and he successfully managed to get a good one with a monthly salary of Rs 40,000. Even as things were going on smoothly for first few months, troubles started around three months ago. His family members smelt something messy when they learned that Shahid went missing.
“Around three months ago, Shahid suddenly disappeared and we were unable to contact him. We could not even obtain any information about his whereabouts”, family members said.
They continued, “Today we came to know that Shahid died in Kuwait in an accident. However, we are suspecting that his two roommates are responsible for his death”.
According to family members, Shahid shared room with two other persons. Those two were not as lucky as Shahid as far as getting salary was concerned. They envied Shahid and often would ask for money. Both of the room mates, often created pressure on Shahid for money and sometimes they had altercation over the issue.
“We are not at all convinced that Shahid died in an accident. We are suspecting role of his two roommates. After getting death information of Shahid, we lodged complaint against his two roommates in Kalamchoura PS”, a relative of Shahid said.
They also urged the concerned authority to take steps to bring back mortal remains of Shahid to his Aadampur based home.
