February 04, 2018: Not only health but also wealth of the poorer section was in prime focus of Central Budget, commented Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh while addressing an election rally in Agartala. Referring to health insurance scheme proposed in the Union Budget, Singh said, the scheme will benefit the poorer section of the country. “It will still take few months to formulate modalities of the scheme in details – but rest assured, the scheme will address the health related issues of the vulnerable sections”, he said and added, the Union Government has also came up with multiple proposals to enhance job opportunities for common people. “Creating of wealth – especially for backward section people, is another priority area”, he said.
Rajnath Singh also highlighted achievements of Modi-led Government in economic front as well as social sector. He specially mentioned about the new Act East Policy which has augmented growth of the region which remained neglected for years. Rajnath Singh today also held a road show in Agartala and addressed a rally in the morning. Pitching strongly for BJP candidates, Rajnath Singh urged people to give BJP a chance in Tripura.
Lashing out at Manik Sarkar led LF Government on several front, he said that Union Government had come up with various measures and schemes to speed up development in North Eastern Region including Tripura. Taking a dig at the Left Front’s allegation relating ‘deprivation by the Central Government in allocating funds’, Rajnath Singh said that the State Government had failed to spend Rs 4200 crore fund allocated to the State.
