October 26, 2017: With no option open, 10,323 teachers who are almost certain to be dismissed from service after December 31 next, are planning to knock Supreme Court’s door to get back their jobs.
Terminated teachers’ body – All Tripura 10,323 Teachers’ Association today held a meeting at Matangini Pritilata hall in Agartala to discuss the matter in details.
A member of the association said, “The state government is doing its duty as per the provisions of law. Now, we are on a move to get back our jobs. It’s our own initiative”. He also mentioned that terminated teachers’ still relying on the State Government but in a desperate attempt teachers will move the Apex Court.
“The date of filing petition in the Apex court is yet to be finalized. However, we held discussions with the lawyers and legal experts over the entire issue and took the decision based on their advice,” said the association member.
On the other hand, the association leaders denied making any comment over the recruitment in 12,000 newly-created posts, as the case is under trial in the Supreme Court.
Unconfirmed report suggests, the association members were directed to contribute Rs. 2000 each for the fund required for another legal battle.
