In Rajasthan, Jaipur Metro has become true symbol of women empowerment. It is the only railway organization in the world with commitment to have thirty percent women in each and every category of its employees . AIR correspondent reports now Jaipur Metro has started a Metro station which is entirely operated by women.
Jaipur Metro Shyam Nagar station is the first metro station in the country where all women staff has been deployed. Activities like station controlling ,assisting customer relation management, helping in ticket purchasing through computerized ticket vending machine, assisting in use of contact smart cards and tokens , security and helping disabled passengers are entirely done by women staff. Even the outsource activities like mechanized cleaning and housekeeping is also done by women . Apart from this Jaipur metro has engaged six women train operators.
