Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has said, 14 crore Soil Health card will be distributed in the country by March 2017. Addressing Assam Krishi Unnayan Mela at Kahikuchi in Guwahati today, he said, steps have been taken to achieve the target. He emphasized the need to impart modern technology in agriculture sector. The Union minister also laid the foundation stone of Agriculture Technology Application Research Institute for Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Mr.Singh said, the new institute will help the farmers. The institute will work as the nodal agency of all Krishi Vigyan Kendras for three states. Our Correspondent reports that Assam has 25 Krishi Vigyan Kendras which are working in the field of providing training to farmers and skill development activities. Union Sports minister Sarbanand Sonowal among others were also present in the program.
