The stock markets have been weak so far today. So after a subdued opening, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange lost more ground, and had declined 180 points, to 24,614 a short while ago. The Sensex had surged almost 1,800 points in the previous six trading sessions.
Similarly, the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange had dropped 47 points, to 7,485 a short while ago. But other key Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore had gained between 0.3 percent and 1.3 percent. And at the forex market, the rupee had appreciated 8 paise, to 67.13 against the dollar in early trade.
