PMPrime Minister Narendra Modi has said, the fight against terrorism is not a confrontation against any religion. Inaugurating the 4-day World Sufi Forum in New Delhi on Mar 17 evening, Mr Modi said, those who spread terror in the name of religion are anti-religious.
He said, Sufism should guide the world, as terrorism is trying to divide humans.

Mr Modi said, Sufism blossomed in India’s openness and pluralism, and engaged with spiritual tradition and evolved its own ethos. He said, Sufism spreads the message that one who loves God, must also love all of his creations.

The Prime Minister called for universal brotherhood while urging South Asian countries to revive and nurture the culture of Sufism, not violence and terrorism. On cultural diversity, the Prime Minister said the believers and non-believers both are an integral part of India. He also recalled the contribution of Sufisim to poetry and Indian music.
