Tripura Assembly witnessed heated arguments on Monday over Reports of Yousuf Commission on killing of former Health Minister of the State, Bimal Sinha. Opposition leader Sudip Roy Burman of Congress held the ruling Party responsible for the killing. Later addressing a Press Conference at Assembly lobby, Roy Burman accused, ruling party is trying to put the findings pertaining to the killing under the carpet and added Govt didn’t co-operate with Yousuf Commission during investigation. Raising demand for fresh investigation, he said earlier Congress Party demanded CBI inquiry which was denied by the ruling Govt. Opposition Party repeatedly demanded debate over Bimal Sinha’s killing which the Speaker of House turned down. This led to bedlam in the House and the Speaker stalled the proceedings twice.
Meanwhile, ruling CPI-M has refuted the charges leveled by the Opposition. Calling the allegations raised by the Opposition baseless, CPI-M State Secretary Bijon Dhar stated, Opposition Party is trying to create confusion and misled the people on this issue. Challenging the allegations of Opposition Party, Dhar further stated Opposition should prove their allegations or else they should resign as MLA.
