June 7, 2017: Putting rifles down, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans took brooms in hand and participated in Government’s flagship programme Swachcha Bharta Abhiyan at Manu Railway Station in Tripura.
The 8th Battalion TSR of observed its raising month on June 5 in a special manner. To commemorate its raising month, Officers and Jawans of the 8th bn TSR, launched a ‘safai abhiyan’ in pursuance of Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan at Manu Railway Station on June 5.
Commandant of the battalion Amarjit Debbarma, Assistant Commanders – Mrinal Kanti Bhadra, Sourav Sen, Ajit Reang, eight sub ordinate officers and total 85 personnel attended the Safai Abhiyan.
Along with safai abhiyan, an awareness programme on cleanliness and hygiene maintenance while travelling in trains was conducted through Prayas meeting – an interactive communication with passengers by Commandant of the 8th battalion TSR (IR-III).
