June 7, 2017: The first of its kind, a Police outpost has been inaugurated at remote Thalchhera at Govindabari. The outpost has now been temporarily work from a TSR camp. The outpost was inaugurated by DG AK Shukla in presence of IGP, Law and Order KB Srijesh, DIG Gourav Chakraborty, Commandant of TSR 8 Battalion Amarjit Debbarma, SDPO L T V Rabin Debbarma, Assistant Commander of BSF 158 battalion M S Raouth and MLA Nirajoy Tripura. Later DG along with the guests visited the proposed site of the outpost.
A programme was organized in this connection and speaking on the occasion DG Ak Shukla said, this is first Out Post in Dhalai district. Once there were gaps between Police personnel and villagers, however, the situation has changed a lot, he said and added Police department will not be able to work successfully unless a strong with people is being formed. Strong bonding with people is essential for successful crime related investigations. Dhalai SP Jal Sing Meena delivered welcome speech.
Later DG AK Shukla along with Police Officials, BSF and TSr Officials visited BoP post border areas and TSR posts.
