July 02, 2017: Bru youths bring cheers and hope for inmates of Naisingpara Bru refugee relief camp in Tripura as for the first time a group of 30 Bru youths joined in a Coimbatore based Company.
According to sources, Bru Tribe People, trained under Special Project of PMKVY Scheme by Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd. in Association with Tripura Welfare Research Society (TWRS) in Tailoring courses. The training was started on March 18 and successful candidates were offered Placement in May 2017. The trained students were recruited by KPR Mills Limited, Tiruppur. “Out of 180 students placed, the first batch of 30 students left the Naisingpara refugee relief camp in Tripura and started working at the Mill from today, July 1, 2017”, TWRS representatives stated.
“All credits go to Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd. and TWRS for our remarkable success. We even dared to dream an employment opportunity at a reputed company. However, members of both the organizations and trainers have made the impossible a reality”, said one of the beneficiary before leaving for Coimbatore.
These trained candidates will be working in world class air conditioned facility of KPR Mills, a Bombay stock exchange listed Company as Tailoring experts, sources said.
In spite of many attempts from Govt. of India over decades, never ever a bunch of 180 students have been able to move out of relief camp at one go for employment opportunity. This scheme of NSDC has ushered new avenue for Bru and has brought a paradigm shift in the minds of refugees here, which has inspired them to move out of camps and shape up their career. Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd. along with TWRS has been very instrumental in getting this Coimbatore based Company to Tripura and providing a platform to Bru Tribe.
Representation from NSDC and SSC at KPR Mills today has made the orientation of Bru Candidates a remarkable event, TWRS stated.
